Project '93 - Goblin Chariots Construction

Grom the Paunch and his Chariot Escort

I unpacked and cleaned the Chieftain Grom's Goblin War Chariot (1993)

I also unpacked and cleaned a Goblin Wolf Chariot (1998) and Goblin Wolf Chariot (2024)

Both of the Goblin Wolf Chariots were the same exact models, the old difference was in the banners that came with the model.

Once every thing was sanded, cleaned and assembled, time to prime.

I primed the riders black, the chariot white, the wolves light gray and the base brown.

Next step painting this bad mamma jamma!

Project '93 - Cheiftan Grom's Goblin War Chariot

 Grom the Paunch

Long ago I saved up enough money and purchased back in the late 90's. I was so happy to get it and put it together and slapped some paint on it. I don't remember what happened to it, did i trade it or did it get lost in the many moves I went through. I can;t remember.

Six years ago I was do some horse trading and managed to score a new NIB Grom and his chariot.

I have been holding off on putting it together until I got my custom ordered three wolf chariot base,

Now that I have it, let the assemble begin.

 Misc Stuff

I had two Orc Bullys from my Rock Lobber and Bolt thrower, but they did not have shields. I finally went through my bit box and found some appropriate shields for them.

Project '93 - Night Goblin Command Squads and Full Units

 Night Goblin Commands

Trying to find vintage Night Goblin Command Figures turned out to be too expensive and quite frankly not needed as I had a ton of these figure from the Battle of Skull Pass sets I bought.

So I painted up to for the 32 archers that came with the 4th Edition Starter set.

 Completed Units

So I finally put all of the figures together and I got 2 units worth.

15 Archers

3 Command figures

2 Night Goblin Shamans

Project '93 - Forest Goblin Spider Rider

 Happy Orktober

I started Project '93 last year to celebrate my discovery Warhammer Fantasy Battle 30 years ago with the Fourth Edition Starter Box. I set out to paint all of the goblins that came with the original set include the miniatures that only had card stock minis at the time.

Well I finally got my made to order shipment from GW and I finally have my Marauder Giant and Orc Shaman on of Wyvern

My aim is to get those two miniatures plus Chieftain Grom's Goblin War Chariot done by the end of the month. A tall order but I thinking a fitting end of this project.

As for current painting, I finally made some major milestones

I completed several units, the one I am most excited about is the Forest Goblin Spider Riders.

Background

If my research is right, the only way to buy a Forest Goblin Spider Rider was in individual blister and they were all metal. The earliest reference I could find was the 1993 Catalogue. This made them one of the more expensive units in goblins armies and very rarely seen on the table top. It was not until 2006 and the Battle of Skull Pass was released that contained 10 Plastic Spider Riders. Till this day, GW is still selling them same exact miniatures for Age of Sigmar.

Painting

It took me off and on 3 months to paint this unit. Life and other project kept interrupting the process.

Using references from White Dwarf, I tried to capture the brightly colored forest goblins and their mounts.

Star Wars Legion - Shore Troopers

I have recently gotten back into Star Wars Legion and with the recent update by Atomic Mass Games it has generated a lot of excitement and people are coming out to play.

I modeled my army on the Imperials at the Battle of Scarif.

I recently finished painting up a squad of Shore Troopers to add to it.

These will be added to my existing force

Project '93 - Night Goblin Shamans and Stone Trolls

I am still working away on this project and I have not abandoned it!

I recently finished a unit of Stone Trolls and 4 Night Goblin Shamans.

All of these miniatures came out of the Battle for Skull Pass set.

As far as I know they never reproduced these miniatures for any other set or box.

Night Goblin Shamans

In the Queue

Currently I am working on the forest goblin rider for the giant spiders, Night Goblin Commands and then Fanatics.

After that I am finally going to tackle Grom the Paunch and his chariot a couple of wolf chariots.

Once those are done, I think I have enough to field a full army.

I am still missing the Orc on Wyvern & and Marauder Giant to make the first part of this project complete.

The 2nd part of this project will involve painting a number of orcs to go along with this army.

Warhammer: The Old World - Royal Clan Army

I have not posted in a bit but I am about to make up for it over the next several weeks.

First up, I have gotten several games of Warhammer The Old World under my belt and I am enjoying immensely.

Recently Gee-Dub has released the Arcane Journal for the dwarfs with two amazing armies of renown to field: The Royal Clan Army and the Engineer Expeditionary Army. Each army is unique and different enough from the Grand Army in the Force of Fantasy Book. You can actually create a third type of army, The Slayer Army using the Royal Clan Army and a special character.

I finally assembled my Dwarf King with Shield bearers from several editions ago and based him.

Also created some new bases for my mining carts and war machines.

Here is the list I recent used against an Lizardman Army.

So far I have faced off against Chaos Dwarves, Orcs & Goblins, & Lizardmen.

Warhammer The Old World

Warhammer: The Old World

I have not really posted about this mainly because I have been doing so much other stuff.

I did get the rulebook and the army index books, I plan on using my old armies and my Project '83 army to play this.

Since the release of the game, I actually managed to play three games and have enjoyed all of them.

These are my boys, stubby legged, beer drinking, bearded, grumpy dudes.

This army is a hodge podge of 80's. 90's, 00's GW Dwarf Miniatures.

Here are pics from some of the games I have played to date

The First Game was a three way battle between Brettonians, O&G and Dwarves.

Second Battle was against Chaos Dwarves

Third Battle was against O&G
