2025 Updates

I am really terrible about updating this damn thing.

After having wrapped up DMing a 2+ years long D&D Campaign in May, I am taking a breaking from Dungeon Mastering and just going to enjoy the rest of the year being a player.

Since my last post, I am still working on my Project '93 Orcs and Goblins.

I finally finished painting up Grom the Paunch and several other units.

I even took them to a Warhammer TOW Tourney at Gigabytes Cafe back in March where I went 1-2 but had a blast. I got to meet a lot of great people and the tourney organizer Jamie was a gem. Sadly these were the last Warhammer games I got to play for several months.

So what am I doing now? I decided to game master a Warhammer Narrative Campaign at my FLGS, Level Up (Duluth Store)

Why? because I am a masochist or that is what my wife tells me.

The campaign will be three linked scenarios that tell the story of a Vampire Pirate Captain and his exploits in the Black Gulf.

Each scenario will be a multiplayer game were a group of players will each be leading a small task force sent to stop the Captain.

I will be running the NPC force and the random monsters.

I have got seven people signed up and I am working on hard on terrain and painting.

Wish Me Luck!!!

Project '93 - Night Goblin Command Squads and Full Units

 Night Goblin Commands

Trying to find vintage Night Goblin Command Figures turned out to be too expensive and quite frankly not needed as I had a ton of these figure from the Battle of Skull Pass sets I bought.

So I painted up to for the 32 archers that came with the 4th Edition Starter set.

 Completed Units

So I finally put all of the figures together and I got 2 units worth.

15 Archers

3 Command figures

2 Night Goblin Shamans

Project '93 - Forest Goblin Spider Rider

 Happy Orktober

I started Project '93 last year to celebrate my discovery Warhammer Fantasy Battle 30 years ago with the Fourth Edition Starter Box. I set out to paint all of the goblins that came with the original set include the miniatures that only had card stock minis at the time.

Well I finally got my made to order shipment from GW and I finally have my Marauder Giant and Orc Shaman on of Wyvern.

My aim is to get those two miniatures plus Chieftain Grom's Goblin War Chariot done by the end of the month. A tall order but I thinking a fitting end of this project.

As for current painting, I finally made some major milestones

I completed several units, the one I am most excited about is the Forest Goblin Spider Riders.

Background

If my research is right, the only way to buy a Forest Goblin Spider Rider was in individual blister and they were all metal. The earliest reference I could find was the 1993 Catalogue. This made them one of the more expensive units in goblins armies and very rarely seen on the table top. It was not until 2006 and the Battle of Skull Pass was released that contained 10 Plastic Spider Riders. Till this day, GW is still selling them same exact miniatures for Age of Sigmar.

Painting

It took me off and on 3 months to paint this unit. Life and other project kept interrupting the process.

Using references from White Dwarf, I tried to capture the brightly colored forest goblins and their mounts.
